Princess Estelle learned some sign language while attending Sport Day at Haga Park on September 7 when she stopped by the NS Hephata tent.  NS Hephata is a sport club for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Crown Princess Victoria explained to Princess Estelle that sign language is a language for the deaf and hard of hearing. Prince Daniel also tried to spell his name, but had some difficulty. Princess Estelle was given a packet with signs so she could continue practicing at home.

Princess Estelle is also learning English from her Australian nanny. (The Royal Watcher)

She is so cute, and even at such a young age, she is a real professional, and well behaved. That little girl is going to be a hard worker just like her mother. I like that she dresses like an ordinary little girl, and is with her parents. She is one royal child that won’t grow up with a bad attitude. She is learning that her duties are a part of her life. That works well for the Scandinavian, Belgian and Dutch royals. The English royals don’t have such an informal style, and their children aren’t as frequently seen in public, and perhaps their public doesn’t expect it. Whatever the Swedish and Danish royals are doing, other monarchies could emulate. It seems to result in a more natural and relaxed public appearance. This little girl and the Danish Royal children are my favorites. They are charming and happy children. George is okay but he is not a favorite for me. He always looks constipated.

I think Estelle is being raised appropriately for a royal child. She seems to already grasp, as much as a 2 year old can, her role, and her parents have appropriate expectations for her. They let her be little, but also show her that she is not ordinary. Her life will not be ordinary. But that it is a special role she fills. They also allow the public to see their someday Queen, not using her when they want to play a role in the PR game. I respect them immensely, and hope other royals look to them as an example. 🙂

george always looks confused and angry, because hes not used to large crowds, paparazzi and all, they should start him early to be around people, otherwise he will be like his father, throwing tantrums and demanding privacy while he knows that cant happen, if george get used the easier it will be for him, l feel sorry for that kid, he looks always unhappy!
